Students enrolled in Integrated Technologies II at Stephen T. Badin H.S. will concentrate their studies on mastering advanced word processing and spreadsheet skills. Emphasis will be placed on creating professional-appearing, relevant and informative documents.

Computer security issues are studied.

Efficient use of Internet-based tools for research, collaboration and communication is stressed throughout all coursework.

Assignment #2 - Formats Galore

Create a report for your science class on a topic you are currently discussing. Minimum of two pages/500 words. No more than 25% of your total content may be quoted sources. Italicize any quoted material.

Format document:
  1. Use a serif font for entire document, except where otherwise specified.
  2. Font size entire document - 12 points
  3. At least one instance where you use/change the following character formats:
  • Double-underlining
  • Strike-through
  • Small Capitals
  • Font Color
  • Superscript or Subscript
  • Outline
  • Shadow
  • Rotated text
  • Character Spacing
  1. At least one instance where you use/change the following paragraph formats:
    • Alignment
    • Indents
    • Spacing Before/After
    • Line spacing
    • Hyphenation
    • Keep with Next
    • Widows & Orphans
  2. Include hyperlinks back to any source articles somewhere in your document.
  3. Remember to include all information required for any assignment you submit. Format all three of those lines as bold AND use a sans serif font.
  4. Using your Badin e-mail ONLY, send your finished document as an attachment.

Welcome to Integrated Technologies II!

This page is the nexus for your Integrated Studies class this semester, you should plan on checking here often for new material. Here's what is planned for our first week together:

Assignment 1 - Reviews

So, what do you think an "A"-level document is? We'll establish some standards with this assignment!

For the purpose of this exercise, you are hoping to become gainfully employed as the Guest Reviewer at your local newspaper. You have been asked to submit written reviews of the following:

  • A movie you have recently seen;
  • A song/artist you recently heard;
  • A restaurant you recently ate at; and
  • A book you have read.

All reviews should be 1 to 2 paragraphs in length. At least one must be of something you didn't like. Pull out all the stops to make this look good!

Submit printed copy AND file e-mailed as an attachment. Due Wednesday, September 2.
